Geographical Introduction

At the foot of Mainamati, about 26 km from Comilla city. Baruda is an upazila surrounded by the Lalmai hills in the distance. Baruda was established as a thana on 24 March 1948. It was declared as an upazila on 24 March 1973. Comilla Burichang and Chandina upazilas to the north of Baruda upazila, Shahrashti upazila of Laksam and Chandpur to the south, Lalmai Pahar, Comilla Sadar and Comilla Sadar Dakshin upazilas to the east and Kachua upazila of Chandina and Chandpur to the west.
